Blandwood In-Depth Tour: Portraiture

As a museum, Blandwood chronicles an impressive collection of historical media that documents the evolution of portraiture from eighteenth century silhouettes to late nineteenth century photography. This special tour reviews the progression of portraiture from simple backwoods representations through posed oil portraits, calotype and daguerreotype prints, to modern photography. This tour explores Blandwood as a remarkable collection that documents a century of rapid change in technology. This tour will be held on Facebook Live, accessed through our Preservation Greensboro or Blandwood Facebook pages. We will be led by Preservation Greensboro’s Executive Director, Benjamin Briggs. This event is free but donations are appreciated! 40 minutes.
