Restore Explore Connect: Saving Tar Heel Manor
March 6, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Preservation Greensboro is planning an exciting Lecture Series in early 2017 that will focus on Architecture, the Decorative Arts, and History in the Gate City and Guilford County. The series will take place week nights, and will be presented by scholars and experts who have studied the unique facets of our history that makes our community a remarkable place to live.
We have a great storyline spanning 300 years of history here in our corner of the world. Why not learn more about it? Our Lecture Series is free to the public, and topics are detailed on our Events page. Please plan to join us for Restore Explore Connect – Preservation Greensboro’s 2017 Lecture Series!
From Walt Disney’s rich architectural renderings in the animated films of her childhood in California to a press-worthy Victorian home remodel standing in Greensboro today, Mindy Zachary takes her audience on a highly engaging and delightful visual documentation of her life, loves and long held passion for historic home rescues and renovations. Mindy’s vintage house, Tar Heel Manor, was recognized through a Preservation Award in 2011. That same year it was open to the public as part of the 1st Annual Tour of Historic Homes & Gardens and was featured on WFMY’s Good Morning Show. Mindy and her house were profiled in O.Henry Magazine in March 2013. Come and get inspired! 1 hour
